ASTD is committed to the concept of Learning Transfer and to helping you maximize your conference learning experience. To increase learning transfer back to the workplace, ASTD has developed a variety of resources to support both speakers and conference participants.
Learning Transfer begins with the development of the session and the delivery of that content by the speaker. However, it is then your responsibility, as the learner, to ensure that you apply your learning in a tangible way. The following resources are to help you make the most of the conference learning experience and increase the learning transfer quotient of your own programs.
Learning Transfer Guaranteed
This three-part series of sessions is a new offering that you may take individually or as the full series.

Learning Transfer Action Log
This one-page tool can be printed and used for each session you attend to focus your intention on how you will apply your learning, what challenges you will need to overcome to succeed, and the resources and support you will need to achieve your goals. Please print enough for the sessions you plan to attend.
The Learning Transfer Contest
The Contest was announced at the ASTD 2008 International Conference & Exposition in San Diego. The Contest encouraged conference learners to tangibly apply their learning back on the job. 14 people submitted entries. The winner won a free conference registration and will deliver a session on Sunday (SU203).
The winner and runners-up are profiled in the April 2009 issue of ASTD Links. Congratulations to all who submitted!
The panel of judges for the 2008 contest included Ed Betof, University of Pennsylvania, Elaine Biech, ebb Associates, and Adrian Cottin Beloso, PCO’s International, C.A. Each submission was assessed in four categories (Learning, Action, Results, and Support). Thanks to all of the judges!
